INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – An IndyCar driver made a pit stop at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St.Vincent on Wednesday.

Driver Charlie Kimball passed out hats and coloring books, and signed autograph cards. It was all part of the Racing for Kids program.

Kimball has a passion for volunteering his time at the children’s hospital to inspire young people who are facing unique health struggles.

He knows from experience what it’s like to be diagnosed with a life-changing health condition. Kimball is the first licensed driver with diabetes in the history of IndyCar to win a race at the most elite level of the sport. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
