Pacers’ Bynum out for season, done with team

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indiana Pacers center Andrew Bynum won’t continue with the team and won’t play the remainder of the playoffs, the team announced Wednesday.

Bynum has been out during the playoffs with a knee injury. His injury will keep him out the rest of the playoffs and then he’ll be done with the Pacers. He’s only been with the team since February and played two games.

“We want to thank Andrew and our medical staff for trying to get the issues with his knee resolved,” Pacers President of Basketball Operations Larry Bird said in a news release. “We wish him the best in the future.”

The Pacers play Game 2 against the Washington Wizards Wednesday night. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
