Fundraising website set up for 3-year-old fire victim

MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) – A GoFundMe page has been set up to help pay for the funeral expenses of a 3-year-old Muncie boy who died in a house fire on Thursday.

Clayton Levi Carnes, 3, was killed in a house fire in the 1700 block of Daly Avenue on the south side of Muncie. Carnes’ mother, Katheryn Wooten, her 14-month-old baby and boyfriend escaped the fire, according to Muncie Fire Department Chief Eddie Bell.

Carnes was found inside of the home after the flames were put out. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the victim’s uncle, Eric Wooten, the family is raising money to cover funeral and burial expenses, as well as money to replace items lost in the fire.

“Any donation, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated,” Wooten said.
