INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – IMPD’s Bomb Squad responded to Monument Circle Friday afternoon after a white envelope with an unknown substance was found inside the Forum Credit Union.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene shortly before 2:30 p.m. According to the Indianapolis Fire Department, a customer found the envelope.

Six people inside the Credit Union–3 employees and 3 customers–were evacuated. Wayne Township’s Hazardous Materials team and IMPD’s Bomb Squad entered the building to begin their investigation.

Officials say the substance was not believed to be a threat. It was retrieved for further testing.

Everyone else in the building was asked to shelter in place. Foot traffic around the Forum Credit Union was blocked off for about an hour, but has since re-opened.

No one was hurt.
