INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Not all racing fun was at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Saturday.
Hoosier families headed downtown to Monument Circle for the Chase 500 Festival Kids Day.
They enjoyed racing of their own along with food, crafts, and other activities including rock wall climbing, and getting to meet this year’s 500 Festival royalty.
Organizers say it’s the state’s largest free outdoor festival for kids.
“I’m really grateful that the city’s helped put it on because the 500 race has such a historical legacy to it and it’s something for the kids and the family to get out here. Just an awesome time,” said Mike John, who was at the event.
The Chase 500 Festival Kids Day also included a rookie fun run for kids ages three to 12.
