MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – A man was arrested early Sunday morning after allegedly shooting a deer from his tractor.

According to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Indiana Conservation Officers responded to a report of shots fired in a rural area southeast of Darlington Saturday evening. When they arrived, officers located a wounded deer that had been shot in the hindquarters.

Officers contacted Daniel Crowe of Darlington, who was planting a bean field in the area of the complaint shortly after 2a.m. Sunday. Authorities say Crowe admitted to shooting the deer.

Crowe is facing several charges related to the illegal taking of a white-tailed deer. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
