GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) — Counselors were at Center Grove High School on Monday after a student died over the weekend for unknown reasons.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of 16-year-old Samuel Motsay. He was found dead by two friends who called police. He was staying at a friend’s house at the time.

An autopsy was underway Monday morning, though the final results won’t be available for weeks as toxicology tests will take time.

Sheriff Doug Cox said a substance was found next to Motsay. It has been sent to an Indiana State Police lab for testing. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
