HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – Husband and wife Hendricks County deputies who were suspended without pay over missing money have both been terminated, according to Hendricks County Sheriff Dave Galloway.

Investigators said Jason and Teresa Woods were accused of not giving back $250,000 in cash that they were holding for a friend.

Sheriff Galloway told the merit board back in March that the couple’s failure to notify police that the victim reported the money missing violates their oath as deputies.

Sheriff Galloway said the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department Merit Board voted to terminate the two on Tuesday for “misconduct.”

Jason, 41, was with the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department for 15 years, and Teresa had been a deputy for three years.
