FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A Fort Wayne couple is facing felony charges after authorities say the man and woman fought a female officer trying to take their daughter into custody.

Courtney and Faneshea Turner face charges of battery resulting in injury to a police officer and resisting law enforcement.

It started with an officer responded to the 3500 block of Bowser Avenue on Saturday because of an accident. The officer arrived and found dozens of people standing around yelling at each other. As the officer was breaking up the fight, a 12-year-old kept yelling and cussing at the officer. She told the girl to get inside the house. That’s when the girl starting fighting with another girl.

The officer took the 12-year-old into custody but that’s when the Turners became violent towards the officer–pulling her hair, kicking and punching her.

Back-up eventually arrived. Courtney and Faneshea were both taken into custody.
