City gears up for Lemonade Day, dyes canal yellow

Lemonade Day

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Despite the dreary weather on Friday, there was a little bit of sunshine at the canal ahead of a big day on Saturday.

24-Hour News 8’s Dustin Grove was MC for Friday morning’s Yellowing of the Canal.

Mayor Greg Ballard and local entrepreneurs dyed the water yellow in honor of National Lemonade Day on Saturday.

WISH-TV is a proud partner of the event. It’s an educational initiative to teach kids the ins-and-outs of starting and running their own lemonade stand business.

Hoosiers can buy lemonade from young local entrepreneurs and set them on a path for success.

Proceeds benefit the Lemonade Day Seed Fund, which will provide start-up money for kids participating in the event next year. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
