Two arrested, children taken into custody during meth bust

WATERLOO, Ind. (WANE) – Officers with the Waterloo Marshal’s Department went to an apartment Friday afternoon in the 200 block of Knoll Creek Drive on a report of methamphetamine use.

When officers went inside they found two adults and four children along with methamphetamine, numerous items used to smoke methamphetamine and several containers of synthetic marijuana or “spice.”

Arrested at the scene was Todd William Spallinger, 35, and Shannon K. Badman, 34, who both live at the apartment.

Spallinger and Badman were booked into the DeKalb County Jail on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, a Class B felony, maintaining a common nuisance, a Class D felony, possession of synthetic marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor and possession of paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor.

The Indiana Department of Child Protection Services removed four children from the apartment, ages 1, 4, 5 and 6.
