Indy makes final pitch Tuesday to host 2018 Super Bowl

ATLANTA (WISH) – Indianapolis will bid to host the 2018 Super Bowl on Tuesday.

Groups from Indianapolis, New Orleans and Minneapolis will present their bids in Atlanta for the Super Bowl Tuesday afternoon.

24-Hour News 8 has learned Indianapolis will go last in those presentations, and will present at around 2:40 p.m.

The bid will emphasize Indianapolis’ past success as a Super Bowl host, and unveil a new Legacy Project that will emphasize improving safety and youth football.

Former Indianapolis Colt Jeff Saturday will make that part of the presentation.

“I’m going to go out, and do the best I absolutely can, but when you represent your city, state, community, your area outside of that, there’s a level of weight on that,” Saturday said.

When Saturday is finished speaking, Colts owner Jim Irsay will then speak. He will address all of the other owners, and then there’s the vote.

24-Hour News 8’s David Barras is in Atlanta. He will have live reports throughout the day. You can follow @Indy2018Bid on Twitter for updates, too.
