Noblesville Schools change start times for 2015-2016 school year

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – Noblesville students will have to adjust their alarm clocks for the 2015-2016 school year.

Administrators have decided to change the start time of class for all students.

The start of the high school and the middle schools is tentatively scheduled to be at 8:45 a.m. from the current time of 7:35 a.m.

Elementary schools are tentatively scheduled to start at 8 a.m. as opposed to the current time of 8:40 a.m.

The times are tentative at this point. Confirmed start times for the schools will be announced in early 2015.

The change is being implemented to address the energy level and alertness of many students during their morning classes.

The school district has been studying the issue of start times for approximately two years and the time changes proposed are based on a committee recommendation.

The change in start times was originally being considered for implementation in the 2014-2015 school year, but was delayed to 2015-2016 to provide families and school administration more time to plan for and process the changes.
