Man killed in home break-in

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Metro Police say a man was shot and killed after someone broke into a north side home late Monday.

Police were called to the 4000 block of Boulevard Place at 11:01 p.m. The caller said someone broke into the home and shot their friend. Medics say the victim, later identified as 24-year-old Patrick Martin of Indianapolis, died at the scene.

A woman inside the home told detectives that two men entered the home, demanded Martin’s things and shot him.

According to investigators there were eight children, 10 years of age and younger, were in the home at the time. None of the children were hurt. Police think only one of the children witnessed the shooting.

Police say they are looking for two men in connection with the shooting. Detectives continue to work several leads, but have not yet released any other suspect information.
