Crash shuts part of I-69 on Indy’s north side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Two people were taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon with unknown injuries after a crash on Interstate 69.

It happened in the southbound lanes of I-69 near 82nd Street around 12:50 p.m.

INDOT said the right three lanes of southbound I-69 were closed near 82nd St. because of the crash. Indiana State Police said at least two vehicles were involved and two people were transported to St. Vincent Hospital with injuries.

Drivers were asked to seek alternate routes while traveling southbound on I-69 near miles 201.4.

It wasn’t immediately clear when all lanes would re-open. ISP dispatchers said around 2:20 p.m. they had two of those right southbound lanes open.
