INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Police are investigating after a body was found in the White River on the near southwest side of Indianapolis Wednesday afternoon.
The call came in just after 2 p.m. Emergency personnel responded to the scene in the 800 block of Tip Street. This is just west of McCarty and Warman.
Police say four people found the victim in the area where they were planning to swim. The victim was partially submerged in the water just 15 feet from the shore.
At this time, police do not suspect foul play, and there were no signs of of trauma. However, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department opened a death investigation.
It was unclear the name, age and length of time the victim was in the water.
