Near northeast side shooting sends man to hospital

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A man was taken to the hospital early Wednesday morning after a shooting on the near northeast side of Indianapolis.

Police say the victim was shot in the leg around 12:30 a.m. on East 37th Place near Dubarry Park.

Investigators describe the person shot as a young man. They say several young people were sitting on the front porch of a home when someone walking or driving by fired multiple shots.

There is no word if any arrests were made in connection to the shooting.
