INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indiana chapter of the Better Business Bureau is warning people dealing with storm damage to beware of contractors that may not be on the up-and-up.
Wednesday afternoon, Central Indiana was peppered by hail; and, strong winds caused trees to fall on power lines and personal property.
BBB officials are specifically concerned with businesses that may falsely claim to be from the Central Indiana region, but are really based in another state.
“After assessing the damage of the storms to your property, find out what needs to be done, and contact your insurance company to find out what is covered,” said BBB serving Central Indiana President and CEO Tim Maniscalo.
While the BBB is putting out the warning to be aware, they do not yet cite specific incidents of contractor issues from Wednesday’s storms.
