INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A jury found an Indianapolis man guilty of murder this week in a shooting that left a man dead in August 2012.
Officials say a jury found Nicholis Hood guilty of murder in the Aug. 3, 2012 shooting death of Andre Johnson.
Johnson was found shot multiple times inside of his vehicle in the 11400 block of Silver Drift Way. Police say his child was also inside the vehicle when Hood fired at least five shots, striking Johnson an unknown number of times.
Johnson was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital where he died. His child was not hurt.
In addition to finding Hood guilty of murder, he was also found guilty of use of a firearm, which will be used as a sentence enhancement.
Hood will be sentenced June 6.
