INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – High school students studying construction trades through the Area 31 Career Center at Ben Davis High School are putting the finishing touches on their latest  project–a new house.

About 50 students built the house in the Haughville neighborhood from the ground up, in partnership with the West Side Community Development Corporation.

Teacher Doug Sisk calls the partnership a win-win: a hands-on learning opportunity for students and a way to help stabilize and revitalize the near west side.

The 1,100-square-foot, three-bedroom home is the thirteenth home built through the partnership and already has a buyer.
