INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A home on the west side of Indianapolis was destroyed after a fire broke out early Friday morning.
At 3:20 a.m., firefighters were called to the 8900 block of Leffler Lane, near Bridgeport and Rockville Road.
When fire crews arrived they found heavy smoke and fire coming from the two story home.
Fire officials say two adults and one dog escaped the fire, but a second dog did not survive. Wayne Township victims assistance is working with the family.
The blaze was brought under control within 20 minutes. The home, valued at $150,000, is a total loss.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
