Indianapolis man arrested in Fort Wayne after deadly home invasion

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – An Indianapolis man who police say shot and killed another man in a north side home invasion Monday was arrested in Fort Wayne Thursday night.

According to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) homicide detectives, Mark A. Tyson, 31, was charged with murder and robbery on Friday. Tyson is being held at the Allen County Jail in Fort Wayne as of Friday afternoon.

The Fort Wayne Police Department Gang and Violent Crimes Unit found a car involved in the home invasion after being contacted by IMPD. Tyson was in the car when FWPD officers pulled it over Thursday night. He was arrested without incident.

Police said Tyson shot and killed Patrick Martin, 24, of Indianapolis, at a home in the 4000 block of Boulevard Place on Monday night.

According to investigators there were eight children, 10 years of age and younger, in the home at the time. None of the children were hurt.
