INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis firefighters were called to Ingredion, Inc. before 6 a.m. Monday on the report of an explosion and fire.

Authorities say a fire broke out in a dryer used to process corn inside the plant, which is located at 1515 Drover Street, on the city’s southwest side.

Plant employees were able put out the fire inside the plant. No one was hurt. IFD assisted at the scene.

According to the company’s website, the workers make several products including sweeteners for food, personal care products, and a form of glucose made from starches that can be found in medications and vitamins.
