INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police in Indianapolis are investigating after they say someone broke into a local school bus yard and stole batteries from four special needs buses.

Officers responded to the Decatur Township Schools bus yard, located in the 4300 block of Decatur Boulevard, around 6:40 a.m.

Police dispatchers with IMPD say someone cut a hole in the fence at the bus yard and stole a number of batteries out of the special needs buses.

A worker at the bus barn said they were able to get two of the buses up and running.

IMPD evidence technicians responded to the scene to get evidence related to the break-in and thefts. Police said there was surveillance video they were checking.
