Body found in Terre Haute ruled a homicide

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – A body found at the intersection of 5th and Swan Streets in Terre Haute late Wednesday night has been ruled a homicide, according to 24-Hour News 8’s sister station, WTHI.

The Terre Haute Police Department responded to the intersection for reports of a person down in the street.

Officers and medical crews arrived to the intersection around 11:40 p.m. Wednesday. They found an adult male. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

An initial witness statement claimed an altercation occurred prior to the death and a vehicle may have been involved.

A name has not been released and no positive identification has been made yet. Officials are waiting on a report from the Vigo County Coroner’s Office for identification.
