Driver dies after I-69 crash in Madison County

PENDLETON, Ind. (WISH) – Police said the driver who was injured in a crash on I-69 in Madison County has died.

The crash happened around 4 p.m. at the 217 mile marker.

According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, a car heading southbound on I-69 drove off the roadway into a median, hit some cable barriers, then went down an embankment and landed in a creek.

Two passerbys stopped and helped pull Amber Davidson 23, of Fishers, out of the car.

Davidson was taken to Saxony Hospital where she later died.

The Hamilton County Coroner will release the cause of Davidson’s death following an autopsy.

According to police, the Anderson Police Department said a car matching the description of Davidson’s vehicle was involved in a crash on the south side of Anderson prior to the crash on I-69.

The crash remains under investigation by the Madison County Sheriff’s Departments Accident Investigation Team.
