Frankfort teacher placed on paid leave

FRANKFORT, Ind. (WLFI) — The superintendent of the Community Schools of Frankfort announced the teacher under investigation for possible misconduct with a minor has been placed on paid administrative leave.

Superintendent Donald DeWeese declined to speak on camera, but released the following statement on Thursday.

“The Frankfort Police Department notified the Community Schools of Frankfort on Monday, May 26, 2014 that Frankfort High School teacher and boys varsity basketball coach, Tom Weeks, was being investigated for possible misconduct with a female Frankfort High School student.

Mr. Weeks was arrested on Wednesday, May 28 around 1 p.m.

Mr. Weeks will be placed on paid administrative leave pending an investigation by the school district.”

DeWeese said updates will be provided if there are any new developments.
