PIMENTO, Ind. (WTHI) – The cause of death for the two bodies found in Pimento in late April has been released.

The Vigo County Sheriff’s Department reported both individuals found inside the home suffered from hypothermia.

The family of Daniel Young, who owned the house and property, requested a well being check on him and his wife. When deputies arrived at the house they had to force their way in where they then found the two bodies.

No foul play was ever suspected in this case.

“Utilities companies actually worked with them to try and come up with a plan so that they could keep the utilities on through the winter time,” stated Vigo County Chief Deputy Clark Cottom. “This was two years ago. The couple actually declined services from the outside. Over a period of time they cut off their family connections as well… they had basically turned away from all help.”

The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office says as long as no new information becomes available, the investigation has ended. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
