Arrests made in Terre Haute homicide

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Two people are behind bars after a homicide that occurred earlier in the week.

On Wednesday night, the body of Steven Vicars-Goings was found at the intersection of 5th and Swan Streets in Terre Haute.

According to police that night Vicars-Goings engaged in an illegal sale of drugs. The other party involved in the transaction was in a pick up truck.

During the transaction, an argument erupted and the pick up truck began to move forward with Vicars -Goings still attached to the truck.

The victim was struck several times by one of the people inside the vehicle. He dropped to the side of the truck and subsequently was run over.

On Friday, Terre Haute Police arrested 22-year-old Cody Morgan from Montezuma and 21-year- old Ashley Lynch from Terre Haute.

“At this point the two that we’ve arrested have both been charged with murder in relation to this case,” Terre Haute Assistant Chief of Police Shawn Keen said. “There is a possibility if not the probability that we will make other arrests in this case.” provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
