One airlifted to hospital after crash on I-70

HANCOCK COUNTY (WISH)  – The westbound lanes of I-70 have reopened after a serious crash near mile marker 102.4.

The crash happened at 9:57 a.m. near State Road 9. Two semis and a passenger car were involved in the crash.

Hancock dispatch told 24-Hour News 8 that a helicopter arrived at the scene to transport the driver of the passenger vehicle to a nearby hospital. There were no other passengers in the car.

The east and westbound lanes were both closed to investigate the incident.

The eastbound lanes reopened shortly after 11 a.m. Westbound lanes reopened at 12:10 p.m.
