FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) — A motorcyclist who crossed a double yellow line to pass two vehicles was hurt on Sunday when he collided with a vehicle in the oncoming lanes.

Fishers Police Department officials said 19-year-old James Douglas, of Indianapolis, was southbound on Brooks School Road when two SUVs in front of him slowed to turn. Police say Douglas drove into the northbound lanes to pass the SUVs when a vehicle turned into the northbound lanes. The driver of the car didn’t see Douglas and they collided.

Douglas was seriously injured and taken to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was wearing a helmet, and police don’t believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
