INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A motorcyclist was injured in a hit-and-run crash on the west side of Indianapolis Monday morning.

It happened around 7 a.m. in the 9100 block of West Washington Street, which is just west of South High School Road.

Police dispatchers say the motorcyclist was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene going westbound. An ambulance responded to the report of injuries at the scene, but the extent of those injuries wasn’t clear.

A couple of lanes were blocked while police and emergency personnel worked to clear up the scene and investigate.

A description of the vehicle that took off wasn’t immediately available.
