Police seek information in fatal Brown Co. hit-and-run

FRUITDALE, Ind. (Brown County Democrat) — Police are asking for information after a man was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Brown County early Sunday morning.

It happened sometime between 12:20 a.m. and 2:20 a.m. Police say the pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle on State Road 135 North near Hurdle Road. The driver did not stop.

24-Hour News 8’s news partner’s at the Brown County Democrat report the victim, 36-year-old Chad Demuth from Kentucky, is believed to have been walking away from Bill Monroe Music Park after attending a music festival.

Police are looking for witnesses, the vehicle and the driver involved. Anyone with information is asked to call the Brown County Sheriff’s Office at (812) 988-6655 or leave a message on the TIP line at (812) 988-6620.
