INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Emergency personnel responded to the scene of a hit-and-run crash near downtown Indianapolis Tuesday morning.

It happened in the 600 block of East Washington Street around 5:45 a.m. Police dispatchers with IMPD say a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle that then left the scene.

A description of that vehicle wasn’t immediately available. Police say they may have located a side view mirror that came off when the person was hit.

Chopper 8 flew over the scene early Tuesday morning and saw an ambulance had responded. It’s unclear whether or not the person hit suffered any serious injuries.
