INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Emergency personnel responded to the scene of a hit-and-run crash near downtown Indianapolis Tuesday morning.

It happened in the 600 block of East Washington Street around 5:45 a.m. Police dispatchers with IMPD say a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle that then left the scene.

A description of that vehicle wasn’t immediately available. Police say they may have located a side view mirror that came off when the person was hit.

Chopper 8 flew over the scene early Tuesday morning and saw an ambulance had responded. It’s unclear whether or not the person hit suffered any serious injuries. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
