Body found in Mississinewa River identified

PERU, Ind. (WISH) — Investigators have determined the identity of the person found dead in the Mississinewa River on Monday.

Indiana Department of Natural Resources officials said 73-year-old Kokomo resident Charles Stout was the person found by a fisherman in Miami County.

Although it’s suspected that a medical condition Stout had may have contributed to his death, the investigation is ongoing and no official cause of death has been determined. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
