JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — Police dispatchers in some Central Indiana counties said fire personnel were busy with a number of lightning strike reports Wednesday morning.

Authorities in Johnson County say multiple fire departments responded to numerous lightning strike reports. Dispatchers say there were about 10 in the Bargersville area. No serious damage was reported with those incidents.

Hamilton County dispatchers say lightning struck a home near 106th and Ditch Road. While the strike knocked out a few breakers and scorched an area near the electrical panel, the house did not suffer any fire damage.

There were reports of a lightning strike in Shelbyville, in the 700 block of West Taylor Street, but police don’t believe there was any damage. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
