INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indianapolis Metro Police will soon receive more spiritual support from a new program.

Fraternal Order of Police created a program called “Code 3,” which means time to take a break.

Officers can now voluntarily meet with a pastor for coffee the first Wednesday of the month at 8:30 in the morning. The goal is to address the officer’s physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

The first day for the event was on Wednesday, and it was a success.

“Great feedback is what we got we talked about this overall concept on how we prepare our officers on the spiritual side to resolve internal conflict they have in our community,” said Rick Snyder the FOP Vice President.

The event is also open to officers’ families. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
