Andrew Luck avoids Twitter, embraces flip phone

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Despite being the face of the Indianapolis Colts franchise, quarterback Andrew Luck is surprisingly absent from social media.

Luck sat down with 24-Hour News 8’s Anthony Calhoun on Thursday. One of the topics Luck talked about was social media and his old-school phone.

“I think it keeps my life a little more simple,” Luck said of his lack of social media presence. “I don’t have this burning desire to be on Twitter. So, I’ll stay off for the time being, I guess.”

Although he said he has no urge to get on Twitter, he does admit “cheating” by having his teammates tell him what’s going on, or scrolling through their social media accounts.

Luck still has the cell phone that has inspired multiple Twitter accounts — a classic, basic flip phone.

“And I’m proud of it,” he said.

Luck did admit his girlfriend teases him for the phone. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
