Gas station clerk shot in head during robbery dies

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The gas station clerk who was shot in the head on Wednesday has passed away, according to the Marion County Coroner’s Office.

On Friday evening, friends and family held a private vigil for 45-year-old Harry Briggs.

Briggs was shot in the head during an armed robbery at the Kix 66 gas station in the 5200 block of West Troy Avenue.

The coroner said Briggs’ family consented to donating his organs.

Police are looking for leads as they search for the suspect in this case, who skipped away from the gas station after the shooting.

The suspect is described as a black male, in his late teens to early 20s, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 foot tall, 180 pounds to 200 pounds, light skinned, with earrings in both ears. Police say the suspect was wearing a black and red Miami Heat ball cap, black bandana over his face, gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black and white sneakers.
