Butler basketball head coach Brandon Miller opened up his youth basketball camp on Monday at the Fieldhouse in Fishers. They were forced away from Hinkle Fieldhouse with the building undergoing a $34 million facelift.
“[It] changes every time you walk through,” said Miller. “When it’s all said and done, it’s going to be beautiful.”
A new sports medicine center, academic center, weight room, and expanded coaches offices highlight what’s already been finished in the project. Now it’s all about the heart of Hinkle. Construction crews are currently working on adding the chair-back seating and the first ever video board in Hinkle’s history. Even as a work in progress, it’s making Brandon Miller’s recruiting trips a little easier.
“It’s already helped,” said Miller. “When you bring a recruit into Hinkle, they can see the new facilities and at the same time, they can see the progress being done.”
