Men possibly gambling before deadly shooting

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A man was killed and another hurt in a shooting police believed happened after the two were involved in an illegal gambling game Monday night.

Indianapolis Metro Police responded to 30th and Winthrop on the city’s northeast side around 10:40 p.m. on a report of a possible shooting victim lying in an alley.

Officers found one man unresponsive who medics pronounced dead on the scene. A second man was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in an unknown condition at the time information was released by IMPD.

Other details surrounding the incident were limited including in what kind of game investigators believed the men were involved.
