INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A woman with a gunshot wound to the face was brought to the emergency room of IU Health Methodist Hospital early Monday morning.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police were called to the hospital around 3:45 a.m. The car parked just outside the ER entrance had several bullet holes in it.
The car’s driver told police the shooting took place earlier in the vicinity of East 34th Street and North Hovey Street on the city’s northeast side.
Police located a couple of shell casings in the area and were waiting on evidence technicians to arrive to recover any evidence found at the scene.
There was no immediate word on the woman’s condition, but police did say the woman was taken into surgery.
