Kokomo police ‘inundated’ with theft, burglary calls

KOKOMO, Ind. (Kokomo Tribune) — Police in Kokomo say they have been inundated with calls over the past few days about burglaries and thefts taking place in the area.

Police say seven thefts or burglaries were reported from Monday morning to Tuesday morning. The thefts and break-ins were reported by businesses and residents around the city, 24-Hour News 8’s news partners at the Kokomo Tribune report.

Officers say the thefts range from a $1,400 deposit from Steak ‘N Shake to a number of cell phones stolen from a Target.

There have also been several burglaries. During one, police say two pistols, coins and a pocket watch worth more than $3,000 was taken.
