CARROLL COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – A Kokomo woman is dead after a crash Tuesday in southeastern Carroll County.

The wreck happened just after 2 p.m. on State Road 29, north of Burlington.

Sheriff’s deputies said a sedan and a pickup truck both drove around a car that was turning right. Investigators said the driver of the sedan made an abrupt left turn and the truck hit the sedan’s driver’s side, trapping the driver in the vehicle.

She was extricated and airlifted to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis where she died from her injuries. Her name has not been released, pending notification of her family.

The driver of the truck, Kevin Redding, 28, of Flora, was taken to Saint Joseph Hospital in Kokomo with unknown injuries.

At this time, deputies said no one has been cited, and the investigation is ongoing.
