WESTFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — Westfield’s fire chief said on Tuesday that crews were busy installing a new tornado warning siren in the city.

Fire Chief Joe Lyons said the new siren was being installed at 191st and Springmill Road. The location of the new siren coincides with the planned expansion of the tornado warning siren network for Hamilton County, a release said.

Officials say this siren will allow nearby residents another way of being alerted to severe weather. The next closest siren is at 191st and Tomlinson Road.
