BROWN COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — Police in Brown County continue to ask for information after a pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run.

Police say on Sunday morning, June 1, deputies from the Brown County Sheriff’s Office investigated the death of a pedestrian on State Road 135 north of Nashville near Hurdle Road. Police say sometime between 12:20 a.m. and 2:20 a.m. 36-year-old Chad Demuth was walking when he was struck and killed by a vehicle. The driver did not stop.

Demuth is from Kentucky and is believed to have been walking south on State Road 135 when he was hit by the vehicle heading southbound.

Police say evidence suggests the vehicle that left the scene may be a 1988 to 1997 Chevrolet or GMC truck, likely a C1500 or W/T model with glass sealed beam headlamps. Police say there should be damage to the front of the truck, the headlamp and a mirror.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Brown County Sheriff’s Office at (812) 988-6655 or by leaving a message on the confidential tip line at (812) 988-6620.
