INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Changes are continuing in an Indianapolis neighborhood that has long been known as a dumping ground.

24-Hour News 8 brought you the concerns of a woman living on Columbia Avenue on the northeast side of Indianapolis and took those concerns to the city.

On Wednesday, Code Enforcement started the process of getting rid of high weeds and trash and fixing area sidewalks.

On Thursday, Indianapolis Power & Light Company returned to the area where they repaired a streetlight that was down.

If you know of streetlights in your neighborhood that are out, report it on or by calling the lights out day or night number at 261-8111.

Another effort to clean up the city launches this weekend. The Mobile Graffiti Unit’s first assignment will be at the Garfield Park Place Apartments. They will be working on the buildings in the far southeast corner of the complex. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
