NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) –  Noblesville Schools announced the new superintendent of the school district on Thursday.

Dr. Beth Niedermeyer, who is currently the Assistant Superintendent of Hamilton Southeastern Schools, is expected to replace Dr. Libbie Conner who is retiring effective September 1, 2014.

“Dr. Niedermeyer rose to the top of our selection process, which initially included over 30 candidates, based on her passion, experience and ability to build strong relationships,” said Pat Berghoff, Noblesville school board president. “We appreciate the tremendous work Dr. Conner has accomplished moving the district forward in terms of technology, talent, infrastructure and curriculum, and look forward to Dr. Niedermeyer continuing on this path of 21st Century learning emphasis while bringing her own leadership style and competencies to the role.”

Niedermeyer’s contract will be formalized by the Noblesville school board at a public hearing on July 1. Her official appointment will be on July 15 at the Noblesville school board meeting.
