INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A day after the Colts lost safety Corey Lynch for the season to an injury, they signed veteran defensive back Mike Adams to fill the void.

Adams is a 10-year veteran who spent the past two seasons with the Denver Broncos.  In 2012, he posted career highs in tackles and passes defended as he helped the team rank second in the NFL in total defense.

Before joining the Broncos, Adams spent five seasons with the Cleveland Browns and three with the San Francisco 49ers.

Adams will compete with Delano Howell for the starting safety spot vacated by Antoine Bethea.
