Man arrested for brandishing gun and carrying cocaine

ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) – Police say a man was found with cocaine after he pulled a gun on another person Sunday morning.

24-Hour News 8’s news partners at the Herald Bulletin report, 35-year-old Deshawn Redfield of Anderson was taken to the Madison County Jail on preliminary charges of pointing a firearm, possession of cocaine, serious violent felon in possession of a firearm and revisiting law enforcement.

The incident happened Sunday around 2 a.m. in the 2600 block of Pitt Street.

When police arrived to the Birdhouse bar they attempted to ask Redfield about the gun he displayed, but he started walking from the officers.

Redfield attempted to run from the bar, but officer were able to tase him. Police found a gun and a plastic bag filled with cocaine.

The Herald Bulletin also found Redfield had a long list of criminal history.
